The Annual Meeting of CARMEN took place on 17-19 September 2010 at Tallinn in Estonia. The event, generously and well hosted by the Centre for Medieval Studies in the Institute of History at Tallinn University, was fruitful in many ways: several new collaborative projects were matched during the Market Place; there was a useful briefing by Eva Hoogland (ESF) on the current prospects for ESF project-funding in the humanities; meetings were held by CARMEN’s current, funded research projects, and embryonic projects; and the meeting agreed to simplify the administrative structure of CARMEN, provide a better forum for national associations of medievalists, and launch a new website.
CARMEN held an open meeting attended by thirty people at the International Medieval Congress in Leeds on 14 July 2010.... Read more
